Believe In Your Dream

Do you sometimes find it hard to believe that you can really make your dream a reality? If so, then there is something very important that you need to know.

We live in a world of dreams.

Every man-made item around you at this very moment began as a thought, an idea or a dream in the mind of a single individual.

The computer on your desk, your mobile phone, your car and countless other items that you use each day are all the result of someone’s ‘dream come true’.

What this means is that throughout history, hundreds and thousands and millions of people have had an idea, worked hard, overcome problems and ultimately transformed their dream into reality.

And if hundreds and thousands and millions of people have been able to do this in the past, then it stands to reason, that you can do it too.

Often we make the mistake of thinking that dreams only come true for a small number of talented individuals who have skills or abilities that we don’t possess.

But this is simply not true.

The fact that millions of people have brought their dreams to fruition in the past demonstrates that the ability to set and achieve goals is something that is available to each and everyone of us.

Right now, millions of people around the world are taking the steps necessary to achieve the goals that are important to them. Some are studying, some are building businesses, some are writing books. What is it that you want to achieve?

In order to achieve your goals in life, the only things you really need are:

(1) A crystal clear picture of what you want

(2) An unshakeable determination to do whatever it takes to make your dream a reality

As soon as you take these two steps, anything becomes possible. If you need a new skill – you learn it. If you come up against an obstacle – you find a way around it. If you experience failure – you learn from your mistake and adopt a different approach.

And gradually, step-by-step, you bring your dream into reality to join the dreams of the countless individuals who have gone before you.

So today I’d like to encourage you to take a look at the evidence around you and appreciate the fact that you live in a world where ‘dreams do come true’.

Understand that millions of people have made their dream a reality in the past – Millions more will make their dream a reality in the future and you CAN be one of them.

Reveal Your True Colors

Imagine for a moment that you are at a party and you are chatting to someone who you’ve only just met. After discussing the decorations and the food, they pause and ask, “So, what do you do?”

When faced with the question, “What do you do?” most people automatically respond by stating their 9 to 5 occupation.

The problem with this response is that it immediately defines you in terms of your job and places you in a pigeon hole that is often filled with stereo types associated with your profession.

For example, Claire is a receptionist who is working at a doctor’s surgery, however, her real passion in life is painting. When she is not working, she spends every spare moment surrounded by her canvases and paints.

For a long time, whenever someone asked “So Claire, what do you do?”, Claire’s response was, “Oh, I’m a medical receptionist.”

Almost inevitably, the person she was speaking to then asked about what it was like to work in a doctor’s surgery.

Then one day Claire made a decision.

She decided that she was no longer going to define herself as a ‘medical receptionist’ who enjoyed painting in her spare time. Instead, she was going to define herself as a ‘painter’ who was currently working at a doctor’s surgery in order to pay her bills.

This simple decision had a big impact on Claire’s sense of personal identity. She realized that it was important to tell people who she really was rather than automatically reciting her job title.

A few weeks later, Claire was at a friend’s housewarming party. As she stood by the fire with a glass in hand, she met a guy named Matt who asked her, “So Claire, what do you do?”

Claire responded by saying, “At the moment I’m working at a doctors’ surgery but what I’m really passionate about is painting.”

As soon as she said these words, Claire realized that this was exactly what she was looking for. It was a completely honest statement but did not place her into the ‘medical receptionist’ pigeon hole.

Instead, it conveyed a sense of who she really was and opened up multiple options for conversation.

To Claire’s delight, Matt asked her about her painting and they had a really interesting conversation. Matt was a web designer and he told Claire that a lot of artists were now selling their work directly to customers over the Internet rather than dealing with galleries.

This was a revelation to Claire who had never really heard of Internet business before.

As she was driving home from the party, Claire realized that her new sense of identity was already having an impact on her life. Instead of talking about being a medical receptionist, she was now discussing her painting with others and discovering new opportunities to explore.

Today I’d like to encourage you to think about the question, “What do you do?” and make the decision to no longer be automatically defined by your occupation title.

Instead, develop a response that is honest, reveals who you really are and opens up multiple avenues for conversation.

You’ll be amazed by how many doors this simple technique will open for you.

My diary

If one knows counting it helps many ways, you can count your achievements, failure, pain or pleasure. I use it extensively. I count about “me” and preserve all that in my little diary. If I say “me” it is little wake, I myself wonder who me...and basically that counting helps me to understand who me. Sometime truly it’s quite boring. Why you write something which narrates you? I mean you are always there then why you need to understand yourself. But I think it’s needed, you out to know your own power, your sufferings, your celebrations.

We have different feelings and also in different magnitude, like when one say “I am tired enough” that definitely mean he is tired more than he actually used to be normally. But how much tired he used to be normally and how tired is he now? This is wonder. Because there is no standardized scale in world to measure feelings. We can easily measure the temperature, speed, length but there is no any scale to measure one most common feeling “tiredness”. But this is needed; one should actually know how tired he is and how tired he can be. This just about one feeling there is many feeling which we should measure in scale. Though there is no scale we can develop our own scale, we can judge the level of our own feelings. Your little diary can help you in this.

I write diary to understand my scale, and in so many years I begun to understand it. This helps me fixing the level of pain I can bear; this helps me know how many nights I can spend sleepless, this helps to understand the level of grudge I can have. Sometime I flip page and find that I cried on something which was truly meaningless. Now I am sure I will not cry any more on that.

This is something which tempts me to love my own pain; I acknowledge the most painful days of my life was the wonderful time I have. I also cherish my days in Motihari, long night’s movies, dancing on road at midnights without any reason. I can feel the hunger at 12o’clock midnights, with battle like time to cooks alongwith the roommates. I can still hear 15 stoves burning at a time in the midnights and people running here and there as if they belong to different planet. I really love it…
