Hi Happy republic day to all.. I am blessed that I am part of a great democratic society.. I am an INDIAN. Today with great pleasure and pride we are celebrating our 61st republic day, I salute TIRANGA. This day is also important because on 30th Jan 1930 India was declared “Sampurna Swaraj”.
Now 26 is more like a holiday, entire day sitting before Buddu Box (TV), first watching Raj path Pared in the morning and then some patriotic movies. This routine is following from last many years now. This balancing act of two exteram lives of a village and metro is quite difficult. For me I think the change is drastic and sometime boring as well. But this change is not effected many people, for thousands in my village nothing has change. For them all day in a year or years are same. I wonder which one is more painful..changing drastically or not changing at all.
I am thinking of Gobardhan of my village, does he understand that we are celebrating our 61st republic day. Is there any impact of these days in lives of many Gobardhans of my village? Well we are rejoicing a developed India but millions of Indians are not even related to it. For them there is no change to situation, decades back they were meeting two times meal from their daily wage and even now they doing the same. Their fathers and fore fathers died fighting poverty, debts and hunger and now their sons are ready to face the same.
Our politicians, ministers are saying inflation is beyond their control, news of a scam is most common for people to pay attention. Now news of a scam below a million dollar does not even secures lines in the news papers. Now ministers and bearocrates have raised their standards, a scam of less than billon dollar is against their image, it does not suit them. After all this I think there is emotion which makes us feel proud on India otherwise …
Today I miss my school days; we use to get up early on 26th morning and start special preparation for the Republic Day gathering in the school. With little sense we use to write speeches and practice entire week for a short speech on the podium sharing with teachers and eminent villagers. Then Batasa (Sweets) used to distribute amongst the kids. We use to get free by 11 and every year we plan something special and many time just watching movies in cinema hall.
